This Week in Andersonville & Uptown: Pride Caps the Week

Your week-ahead guide to Andersonville & Uptown — 6 picks worth planning around

By Raj Singh · Published June 21, 2026.

The north side starts wet and cools into the mid-60s before drying out midweek. It builds to a big finish: the Chicago Pride Parade rolls through Uptown next Sunday. Between now and then, the Green Mill keeps the lights on.

SUNDAY 6/21

Uptown Poetry Slam @ The Green Mill

The longest-running poetry slam in the country, every Sunday in the old Capone-era jazz room in Uptown. 3–5 PM, $10 cover, and a perfect rainy-day plan.

Eat first at Tweet up Broadway — the lemon ricotta pancakes — then grab a booth early.

SUNDAY 6/21

French Montana & Max B @ The Riviera Theatre

The Wave Gods reunion lands at the Riv in Uptown, 8 PM — a long-awaited bill for the Coke Boys faithful.

Fuel up across the street at Demera Ethiopian — the doro wat and injera will carry you through the night.

MONDAY 6/22

Joel Paterson & Friends @ The Green Mill

One of Chicago’s finest guitarists holds court at the Green Mill — swing, jazz, and a little twang, 8 PM. Low-key and high-skill.

Grab a banh mi from Ba Le on the Argyle strip beforehand.

WEDNESDAY 6/24

Andersonville Farmers Market @ Clark & Berwyn

Andersonville’s evening market runs 3–8 PM on Berwyn just off Clark — produce, flowers, and prepared bites along the neighborhood’s main drag.

While you’re on Clark, duck into Hopleaf for the Belgian-style mussels and frites with a strong ale.

THURSDAY 6/25

Colvin Concerts: Radium Swing Band @ Colvin House

An outdoor concert in the courtyard of the landmark Colvin House in Edgewater, with the acoustic Radium Swing Band. A lovely, low-cost summer evening.

Make it dinner first at Ethiopian Diamond on Broadway.

SUNDAY 6/28

2026 Chicago Pride Parade @ Uptown

The 50-plus-year centerpiece of Pride Month steps off and winds through Uptown and Lakeview. Free, enormous, and the loudest day of the year up here — stake your spot early.

Carbo-load with biscuits and gravy at Lucky’s on Sheridan before you claim a curb.
