This Week in Wicker Park & Bucktown: Salt Shed Season Arrives

Your week-ahead guide to Wicker Park & Bucktown — 5 picks worth planning around

By Raj Singh · Published June 10, 2026.

The Salt Shed outdoor stage is now firmly in summer mode, with two back-to-back headliners in West Town this week — Sierra Ferrell tonight and Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor 20th anniversary tomorrow. Across the neighborhood, the Empty Bottle in Ukrainian Village opens the week with one of the more interesting guitar shows on the calendar, and Wicker Park's First Fridays Art Walk closes it out.

WEDNESDAY 6/10

Sierra Ferrell with The Brudi Brothers @ The Salt Shed

Sierra Ferrell's outdoor stage show at the Fairgrounds is the right way to start summer — her sound sits somewhere between old-time, honky-tonk, and country noir and it fills an outdoor space like very few artists can. West Town. 6:30 PM, $78–$209, presented by Heineken. Antique Taco (1360 N Milwaukee) is half a mile away for pre-show tacos.

WEDNESDAY 6/10

Wendy Eisenberg and More Eaze @ Empty Bottle

For the quieter counterprogram: Wendy Eisenberg is a virtuoso guitarist who moves between art-rock, free improv, and eloquent folk in a single set. The Empty Bottle in Ukrainian Village is the perfect venue — $23.48, 21+, doors 8 PM show 9 PM. The bar pours Old Style and natural wine with equal seriousness.

THURSDAY 6/11

Lupe Fiasco: Food & Liquor 20th Anniversary Tour @ The Salt Shed

Twenty years since Food & Liquor dropped and Lupe is playing it front-to-back in his hometown. This is a significant Chicago hip-hop moment — the Salt Shed's indoor stage (not the Fairgrounds) keeps it intimate for an album this canonical. West Town. 7 PM, $64–$79. Piece Brewery & Pizzeria (1927 W North) is worth the detour for a pie before doors.

THURSDAY 6/11

Akili Ni Mali: A Tribute to Erykah Badu @ Subterranean

If the Salt Shed is sold out, Subterranean in Wicker Park has this Erykah Badu tribute running the same night. 8 PM. Wicker Park's late-night stretch on Milwaukee Ave means you can walk between venues; for a pre-show plate, Dove's Luncheonette (1545 N Damen) serves until 9 PM.

FRIDAY 6/12

Wicker Park Bucktown First Fridays Art Walk @ Jackson Junge Gallery

The monthly First Fridays Art Walk starts at Jackson Junge Gallery (1389 N Milwaukee) at 6 PM — free, no tickets, multiple stops along the Milwaukee Ave corridor. Good way to end a week of Salt Shed shows by walking the neighborhood at pace.
