How it was

This year's edition is over — the lineup, schedule, and notes below are kept as the record of 2026.

What to expect

St. George Greek Orthodox Church's three-day Greek Fest at 2701 N. Sheffield, June 5–7, 2026. Authentic homemade pastitsio, gyros, dolmades and loukoumades from the church kitchen, Greek wine and beer, live bouzouki bands, traditional folk dancing performances on the church grounds, and church tours. Gritty in the best way — this is a parish fundraiser, not a corporate event. (Note: separate from the larger Lincoln Square Greek Fest at St. Demetrios, which is the following weekend.)

Transit

Brown/Purple Line to Diversey or Red Line to Fullerton, both about a 10-minute walk. The 76 Diversey and 8 Halsted buses both stop within two blocks. Street parking around Wrightwood and Geneva Terrace is permit-free on weekends but fills fast — try farther west toward Halsted.

Bag policy

No bag check — small fest.

Family-friendly

Great for kids — flat church grounds, programmed kids' folk-dance performances, and pastries that toddlers love. Stroller-easy throughout. Indoor church bathrooms (with changing space) are a major upgrade over typical fest porta-johns. Most parish-style fests are calmer than block-party style fests; this is no exception.

Local tips

  1. The church kitchen runs out of the homemade pastitsio and moussaka by Sunday afternoon — go Friday night or Saturday lunch for the deep menu.
  2. The loukoumades (honey-soaked donuts) are the universal recommendation — fresh from the fryer near the back tent.
  3. Take the church tour: St. George's iconography is gorgeous and 90% of fest attendees skip it.
  4. Cash-only for some food booths; ATM is on-site but slow.
  5. Saturday night dancing is the social peak — the resident Greek dance troupe pulls newcomers in.
  6. Skip if you wanted a music-fest vibe; this is fundamentally a community fundraiser with food as the centerpiece.
  7. Confirm 2026 entertainment lineup at lincolnparkgreekfest.com closer to the date — programming sometimes shifts.
