This Week in Lakeview & Wrigleyville: Cubs Pride Series, Pride Fest Saturday
Your week-ahead guide to Lakeview and Wrigleyville — Pride week anchored by a 3-game Cubs series and Chicago Pride Fest on Saturday.

Pride Month peaks in Wrigleyville this week. The Cubs open a three-game Pride Celebration series against the Rockies on Monday, and by Saturday the full Chicago Pride Fest takes over Northalsted with two days of music, drag, and vendors. Schubas slips in a quieter Monday night show in between — a good option if the Cubs game sells out or you'd rather have a beer with a good band instead of a crowd of 40,000.
MONDAY 6/15 — Pride Celebration: Chicago Cubs vs. Colorado Rockies @ Wrigley Field (Wrigleyville)
Wrigley Field opens its Pride Celebration series Monday night with the Rockies — 7:05PM first pitch, overcast skies with a 76°F high that makes for good baseball weather. The Pride game draws a diverse crowd and the atmosphere on Clark and Addison before first pitch is what makes Wrigleyville Wrigleyville. This is also the best chance to see the Cubs in their Pride Night gear.
1060 W. Addison St., Wrigleyville. 7:05PM. Tickets at cubs.com. Ann Sather (3411 N. Broadway) does enormous cinnamon rolls — the kind you share — best grabbed in the afternoon before the game, not after you've waited 20 minutes for hot dogs.
MONDAY 6/15 — Aly Wojo, Growing Boys, Julian Saunders @ Schubas (Lakeview)
Schubas Tavern on Southport hosts this Monday night indie bill — three acts, all with a personal songwriting approach that suits the small room. Schubas is one of the best 250-person venues in the city: good sound, unpretentious bar, and you can actually hear the artist talking between songs. If you're skipping the baseball, this is your evening.
3159 N. Southport Ave., Lakeview. 8:00PM. Check schubas.com for tickets. Crisp (2940 N. Broadway) around the corner does the best Korean fried chicken in Lakeview — the spicy-sweet sauce and the side of pickled cabbage are the move before an 8PM show.
TUESDAY–WEDNESDAY 6/16–6/17 — Chicago Cubs vs. Colorado Rockies @ Wrigley Field (Wrigleyville)
The Pride Series continues Tuesday and Wednesday — both 7:05PM first pitches. Tuesday brings a 67°F high with light showers (pack a poncho or check the weather an hour out), Wednesday clears slightly. Three games against the Rockies is a long enough series that you can find the right night if Monday doesn't work.
1060 W. Addison St. 7:05PM both nights. Smoke Daddy (3001 N. Sheffield) is a short walk from Wrigley and does BBQ brisket that holds up — good for a pre-game dinner before the crowds get there.
SATURDAY 6/20 — Chicago Pride Fest @ Northalsted (Lakeview)
Chicago Pride Fest takes over Northalsted on Saturday for two days of music, drag performances, LGBTQ vendors, and the unofficial official start of Pride parade weekend. It's one of the biggest neighborhood street festivals in the city, and the energy on Halsted between Belmont and Addison is impossible to replicate anywhere else. This is the capstone of a fully Pride-saturated week in Lakeview.
Northalsted, Halsted St. between Belmont and Addison. All day Saturday (6/20). Free to attend. Clark Street Bar (3263 N. Clark) opens early and stays open late — straightforward drinks, no attitude, conveniently between the Red Line and the festival grounds.
